My calendar art - Term 4 Week 3

                                   Calendar Art!!!!
Not so long ago our class started our calendar art.  My calendar art was a picture of two ghosts and a dead tree.  For the dead tree I painted my hand and some of my arm then I put on the paper.  For the ghosts I put my on the paper upside down because the ghosts face is on the heel bit and then I got a black coloring in pencil and did two black dots for the eyes and one for the mouth. Before I did any of this I dyed the background black.

Disgust

WALT entertain the audience

Success Criteria:

1. I plan for the writing task
2. I write sentences that make sense
3. I have colour, taste, smell, look, sound and feel each on a new line.
4. I use specific words in the poem.
5. I attempt to write words I don’t know by using my sound/letter knowledge or a dictionary.
6. I use commas, exclamation marks, capital letters and full stops correctly.
7. I will present my poem on an A4 paper from the tote tray.  I need to think about making sure the reader will be able read my writing.

Disgust.

Disgust is dark green

It tastes like mouldy dark green broccoli

It smells like freshly mown grass

Disgust looks like somebody that has a scrunched up face.

it sounds like somebody who is chopping up veggies

Disgust feels disturbing.

Disgust makes me awful!.    

My poem week 10 term 3

WALT entertain the reader with an onomatopoeic poem

Success Criteria:

1. Use a dictionary and our sound/letter knowledge to write words I don’t know.
2. I will make sure the content relates to the title and creates a picture in the reader’s head.
3. I will make sure each word is on a different line.

Cinema

Pop pop

chew chew

rattle rattle

yay yay

laugh laugh

he he he

Goes the cinema, the movie and the popcorn machine

10 facts about me - Week 8 term 3

10 facts about me!!

1. My favorite animals are kittens, bats and parrots .
2. My favorite food are apples and salt and vinegar chips. 
3. My favorite sport is netball and rippa rugby.
4. My favorite books are Diary of a wimpy kid.
5. My favorite TV shows are regular show and adventure time
6. My favorite colour is light blue and yellow.
7. My favorite game at school are bomb.
8. My favorite ice cream flavour is cookies and cream.
9. My favorite take away place is Burger King.
10. My favorite pattern is vertical stripes.

This is my favourite kind of kitten.

Persuasive writing #2

WALT persuade other students to agree with our opinion.  This the purpose for my writing.

Success Criteria:

1. I plan for a writing task
2. I write a variety of sentence lengths with different sentence starters
3. Give reasons with detail - use specific words
4. I write most topic and high frequency words correctly.
5. I use capital letters, full stops, question marks and exclamation marks correctly.
6. Use persuasive language

School days should start later

In my opinion I think that school days should start later.

In my opinion if school started later people wouldn't be late for school. Another point is if school started later people wouldn’t miss out on their learning or important instructions.  Another reason is you don’t  need to switch your etap from ? to L anymore (L means late and ? means away or don’t know where he or she is)

For example: If you had something important on at 8.00 you wouldn't be late because if school started at 9.00 it wouldn’t matter much.  I think 9.00 is a good time because a parent is really forgetful and can forget the time because 8.45 is a really random number, but if it was 9.00 they probably won’t forget because because it is the first number.         

Another reason is that if somebody forgot their library book and their mum and dad went to work at 8.30am and then there mum could quickly get it for he or she without being late for work.  Therefore if somebody forgot their book packet and it was 8.40 there nana or dad or mum could quickly drop it of.

And that is why school days should start later.

Animal band reader's theater - term 3 week 7

Walt performe to an audiience

Success Criteria:

• speak clearly
• speak loudly
• speak with expression
• speak together as a group

                                                              The animal band! 

  

Today Room 12 had an assembly item called 'The animal band'.  The characters were the donkeys, dogs, cats, roosters, readers, narrators and robbers.  
We started practicing on Tuesday and we performed on Friday.  When we just started we didn't do the best, but when we got used to it we got better and better and by Friday, I thought it was a 10/10.  
I was an actress as a cat, there was one actor in each group.  
When it was Friday I was a bit nervous because there were 600 people watching us. After the show and after assembly Mrs Miller gave us a fruit burst.  Then we got changed back into our uniform.
